With over 30 years of experience in the martial arts industry, Kru Faraaz Taiyab has held many titles throughout his career ranging from his early Karate to his later Muay Thai & Kickboxing championships. After a long career in competition, and training on the Canadian Muay Thai Team, he obtained his Kru Certification under the Muay Thai International Association in 2001. His years of long practice have given birth to a new found system: NeuroLine, which he wishes to mark as the next evolution of training in the years to come.

JAMES HSIN

Asst. Instructor

James has been training under Faraaz’s tutelage at Neuroline since the age of 16, and has reached the rank of Blue Pra Jied. Through this journey, he’s learned more about himself and the importance of honest expression. During his time with Neuroline, James has had the opportunity to participate in several competitions. He is a 5th year Kinesiology student at the University of British Columbia, and enjoys playing the piano in his spare time. Currently, James is a personal trainer, and has served active rehabilitation clients and individuals looking to improve their health. He has experience working with children with developmental delays, and structuring programs to ensure their growth and personal development. In 2018, he received his BCRPA Weight Training and BCRPA Personal Trainer Certification. James hopes to enable individuals to realize their potential, just as his peers and mentors at Neuroline have done for him.

Testimonials

“True Leaders don’t create followers, they create more Leaders.”

“I’ve been training at NeuroLine Muay Thai & Fitness just shy of two years. I came into my first class with minimal knowledge and understanding of the sport/art of Muay Thai and have subsequently come away close to two years later with a fondness and appreciation for all that it has offered me. Faraaz (Fro’s) instruction has gone beyond perfecting a bodily technique or losing pounds and has gone to the extent of helping me gain a greater sense of self and confidence in everything I do. I can say that not a day goes by that I don’t think about training as his passion for teaching and for Muay Thai is so evident, it’s impossible not to develop similar love for the sport yourself. What Fro has created is a space and environment to progress and to learn but also a community of people who can engage in a physical and verbal dialogue and create lasting bonds and friendships over a shared appreciation for training and Muay Thai. I can’t begin to express the level of gratitude or joy I have in being able to have trained and continue to train under Faraaz’s tutelage”

–Timea Quon

“NeuroLine Muay Thai has been a great place for me to train. It has been almost a year, and I still consider myself something of a beginner. That being said, Faraaz has laid the foundation for basic skills for all of his students so that everyone can practice in a safe and respectful way. Every class is different, so that our foundations are challenged in new interesting ways — everything from sprinting to piggy-back sumo wrestling. In the end, we are not solely learning how to be proficient in a martial skill; instead, a lot of time and heartfelt consideration has gone into the development of the individual soul, and how this can be reflected both in the art of Muay Thai and in our regular lives. The moves come second; the heart comes first at NeuroLine, and this is reflected in our practice. We are not training to be violent, dangerous street fighters. Rather, we train to be calm and collected, to play with others during sparring, and to improve our lives outside of the gym.”

–Kerri Van Doorninck

“I have been in many kickboxing and MMA gyms.. But Faraaz and NeuroLine has been the best I have ever been to. Although I am no longer there, it is an amazing experience. It’s a great team to be a part of, and they will kick your ass into shape.. I strongly support the NeuroLine team.”

Origins of Muay Thai

Muay Thai originated from Muay Boran in Burma, found Southeast of India and China along the Northern Thailand border. This martial art became prominent as Thailand’s national sport under the rule of King Chulalongkorn in 1868. Also known as “The Art of Eight Limbs”, Muay Thai uses the fists, elbows, knees, and shins along with clinching and throws in various techniques, and was one of the bases from where Kickboxing began.
